After completing both parts of the Blended Guard Card Training (Powers to Arrest online & Appropriate Use of Force in-person), the State Application and Live Scan Fingerprinting, the standard processing time for the State to process a Guard Card is 2-6 weeks, however, some are processed much quicker (24 hours) while others may take longer (8+ weeks). • Contact the BSIS at (916) 322-4000 or by email about the status of a Guard Card, only if it has been more than 8 weeks since the submission of the application, application fee, and completion of the Live Scan fingerprinting background check.
