ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Loss Prevention Group, Inc. (LPG) is a diverse and uniquely qualified company with its executive and management teams having over a century of combined experience in Corporate Security, Loss Prevention, Critical Operations and Law Enforcement. Since LPG's inception in 2006, they have consistently been rated highest in quality by their customers.

LPG's executive and management teams have worked as corporate officers, investigators, special events coordinators, and sworn law enforcement officers. LPG's leadership team continues to receive training in the latest techniques and technologies in both the private security industry and law enforcement.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR, MATTHEW LUJAN

Prior to forming LPG with his business partner, Matthew had a successful management career in proprietary security and loss prevention with Sony Corporation of America and the Virgin Entertainment Group. With over 27 years of experience in the industry, Matthew's responsibilities have included guard force management, executive and celebrity protection, security control center operations, internal investigations, risk/threat assessments, inventory control, and special event security coordination.

Matthew is certified through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) as a licensed firearms and baton training instructor (License Numbers: TIF 2570 & TIB 1954). Additionally, Matthew is a California DOJ certified firearms instructor, a State of Utah certified concealed firearm instructor and is credentialed by the NRA as a civilian pistol instructor, range safety officer and a law enforcement firearms handgun instructor. Matthew is also a POST certified baton instructor.

In 2014, Matthew was appointed by the BSIS Bureau Chief to the BSIS Advisory Committee. Matthew served on the committee from 2014 - 2018 as the representative for all Private Patrol Operators in the state. In 2018, Matthew was appointed to a four-year term by Governor Edmond G. Brown Jr. as a member of the private security disciplinary review committee at the Department of Consumer Affairs. 

Since 2004, Matthew has worked as a reserve police officer and background investigator with a city police department in the San Francisco Bay Area. He primarily works in the patrol division, but also works special details including gang task force, DUI enforcement and alcohol beverage control enforcement. Since 2012, Matthew has served on the Board of Directors for the California Reserve Peace Officers Association.   

Matthew holds an Associate in Arts degree in Administration of Justice, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership, with a concentration in Criminal Justice Administration.
